The Tattered Pew Best of 2017

Happy New Year my friends and welcome to 2018!  Today I am so excited to share the best of the Tattered Pew’s posts of 2017! I felt like sharing my favorite posts would be a great way to recap my year here on the blog. I was inspired by my blogging friend Doreen of Hymns and Verses when she shared her beautiful recap.

Looking back on this second year of blogging has been so rewarding and encouraging for me. At times I have felt like I had no idea what I was doing or if anyone was even reading my posts and then other times I realized I have learned so much! Overall I feel like I have accomplished so much in our home and it has forced me to take a step back and appreciate all that I have. I have also been praying and reflecting on this new year ahead. I usually like to have a word for the year or a verse to guide me. So far the words simplicity, purposeful and contentment have been heavy on my heart and my verse is from:

1 Timothy 6 :6-8

“Now there is great gain in godliness with contentment, for we brought nothing into the world, and we cannot take anything out of the world. But if we have food and clothing, with these we will be content. But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation, into a snare, into many senseless and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction.”

I will expand on these some more in the weeks to come as well as share with you about the spending freeze I am doing for the month of January. For now I would love for you to peek at my favorites. I would love to know what posts were your favorites from this past year. You can let me know in the comments below. Also, If I didn’t include one that you enjoyed please let me also know in the comments below.
