The first day of Spring is just a few days away and I am so excited! I have slowly been making my way through our house and adding touches of Spring here and there. We recently updated our kitchen cabinets and I could hardly wait to see them with my Spring décor! So today’s post is all about simple Spring decorating ideas for your kitchen.Simple Spring Decorating Ideas For Your Kitchen

This week I’m joining some of my talented blogging friends for the Spring Seasonal Simplicity Series hosted by Krista of The Happy Housie. If you are coming over from my dear friend Brendt of She Gave It A Go, welcome! Wasn’t her Spring tour just beautiful?

Come on in to our kitchen, I’m Kelly!

Like I mentioned above, our kitchen had a bit of a transformation this past fall. Our cabinets went form cherry to white. I am smitten and love when I get to decorate our kitchen for the seasons.

Adding Spring Vignettes In The Kitchen

One of my favorite ways to decorate for any season, especially Spring, is to create vignettes around our kitchen. There are currently 5 in total if you count the one on the kitchen table and beneath our mug rack. I know this sounds like a lot but they are all spread out.

Creating vignettes is a simple way to add seasonal décor that isn’t over the top. This year I chose to pop the pinks.

See that darling pink bunny in the vignette above? It’s actually my daughter’s piggy bank! Nothing is off limits when it comes to decorating my house!

Rule Of Threes

Whenever I create a vignette I like to use the rule of threes. This simply means arranging things in groups of threes (or odd numbers) and makes them more appealing or memorable. Usually I love to vary the height of the objects as well.

It just works.

I also like to add something to ground the vignette and my go to is usually a tray or basket.

Setting The Table

Our kitchen nook is just to the left of our island and it’s one of my favorite spaces. It hold this gorgeous old wood table I scored for free from a friend who was moving. I know, how lucky did I get?! The curtains lend themselves to Spring vibes and so do our new white chairs!

The Spring vignette you see in the center of the tables features my latest DIY…these darling stenciled sea grass baskets. One of the easiest DIY’s I have ever done!

stenciled sea grass baskets make the perfect Spring vignette on our kitchen table.

The pink peonies make it pop for Spring and aren’t these green and white bunny plates the cutest?

Layer In The Patterns

I am obsessed with mixing and layering patterns, so our new green buffalo plaid Ruggable  was the perfect addition to our nook. I love how it mixes with our floral curtains, the plaid runner on the table and my beaded chandelier. So much lovely texture and pattern! My only rule is that when mixing patterns there should be a complimentary color and nothing that competes. The curtains, the rug and the runner all have white and they all work together!

Even our sweet pups are loving the new Ruggable under the kitchen table. Whoever invented washable rugs is my hero. This one has already been put to the test by our kids and pups.

OUr sweet pup Kona is very impressed with our pretty new Ruggable in the kitchen nook.

Our Ruggable is beautiful and practical for our kitchen. Dog and mom approved!
Zoey loves it too!

Create a Space You Love To Change Up

This little corner of our kitchen can never be forgotten. Each season I change up this mug rack and it’s always a fun challenge to do something new. By simply adding the mug rack to this wall I was able to create a space that I love and enjoy decorating.

A peek at Spring in our kitchen.

My jadeite cups mixed with my blue and white tea cups mirror the color in the curtains and rug. And do you see that sweet little metal hanging basket holding the faux peony? It’s a slight nod to what’s to come in May when I bring out my DIY paper May Day baskets.

Speaking of May Day baskets I recently had a pinch me moment when they were featured in American Farmhouse Style’s latest issue! Ahhh! So honored! I shared a picture here if you want a peek!
