Hi Friends!
I’m so grateful you are here. I am Kelly’s mom and I love to visit with you each month.
I love the month of November. My thoughts are warmed with gratitude. It is chilly here in Colorado and it is time to bundle up, light some candles, and get cozy. I woke up to this morning view last week.

A Visit to the Mountains
We spent a few days in the mountains in the town of Vail. It is such a charming town brimming with European flair. I love walking through the village and visiting a couple of the local Gorsuch stores. The first one has gorgeous clothing and ski items. It also has a coffee bistro where Larry and I had a delicious hot cocoa.

Their second location is a high end store full of unique and creative home decor with a European flavor. If I had a mountain home I would furnish it full of items from this store. A girl can dream, right?!

It looks like they are enjoying autumn but looking towards Christmas. And I’m right there with them, ha!
Look at this tartan style dresser, and those antler chairs!

Okay, enough of my drooling…

Two Thanksgiving Table Settings
Here in America Thanksgiving falls on the fourth Thursday in November. Our Canadian neighbors to the north celebrate Thanksgiving on the second Monday in October. There are approximately fifteen other countries that celebrate some type of thanksgiving.

We usually have the pleasure of hosting family and friends for Thanksgiving dinner in our home. It is a potluck feast full of yummy food, with a hearty side of gratitude.
“For me, every hour is grace. And I feel gratitude in my heart each time I can meet someone and look at his or her smile.”
– Elie Wiesel
I enjoy setting a table that is welcoming and inviting. Ok that sounds very charming, but I will admit that one of my weaknesses is collecting linens. I had decided to use a piece of blue block print fabric that I brought home from France. This is how that turned out.

I layered paper placemats, white plates, and blue willow salad plates at each place setting. I found the gathering basket at a vintage flea market. It is filled with dried artichokes, sunflowers, pomegranates, and various pods. And I added a wheat bundle.

The Second Table Setting
Well, after I had confirmed this plan in my mind, I may have wandered into Homegoods and I may have purchased another tablecloth. Remember that I confessed my weakness for linens… well I caved and bought another April Cornell tablecloth. (Picture me with my hand to my head and rolling my eyes.)

I found the green Bordahlo Pinneiro soup tureen at a thrift store in Arizona while visiting dear friends. Yes, I’m that person who hits flea markets and thrift stores wherever I am. I think we all may have found something at that thrift store, right Trina?! The green plates were found at a vintage flea market.
OK, back to the table setting…
The soup tureen is filled with some of the same items I had in the gathering basket. And I added the wheat bundles and votive candles.

Help Me Decide Which Table
Okay friends, I need your help! I like them both. Which table setting would you choose??? Do you like blue #1 or burgundy/brown/green #2?
I would love it if you would help me by leaving your choice in the comments below.

Thanks for voting Reinaldo, I appreciate you!
Rinalda sometimes that auto correct is irritating, ugh!
I luv the burgundy’s & more like fall colors. Table #2 for mes.
The wheat reminds me of fall back in Mo where I was raised.
Yes Donna, I love those fall colors too!
My fave is number 2 – beautiful!
Aw Deborah, thanks for you kind comment!
I love the blue – it’s unique! You don’t usually see blue for thanksgiving. I love it!!
Debbie I agree and I love me some blue!
Number 2 ! Happy Thanksgiving !
Thanks for voting Jennifer! Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours!
I am usually a blue person but the green plates in number 2 really caught my eye! Number2 gets my vote.
Melanie me too! I loved pulling out the green in the tablecloth.
I love the simplicity of the basket in #1! But when it comes to fall, I gravitate towards traditional fall colors (#2).
Lori I agree! That’s why I bought the #2 tablecloth, love those fall colors.
The colors in #2 scream fall!❤️
Yes Julie, I agree! Thanks so much for voting!
Such lovely tables! Anyone would be proud to be seated at either. But the second one – burgundy/brown – is a bit more autumnal in my eyes, so I will choose it. A joyous Thanksgiving, Tracy!
Aw Octavia thanks for your sweet comments! You just made my day. Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours.
I have to agree. Number 2
Sandy thanks for voting, #2 seems to be a favorite!

#1, cozy, comfortable, a lovely nod to the season. This is a lovely back drop for the tons of Thanksgiving food that will sit on the table.
Wendy, great sense of place comments, thank you!
I like both, I prefer #2 – glassware is missing & would add a lot to the table & in #2, I might see how the napkins look under the green plate.
Great observations LW! It does help to put drink ware on the table, ha!
I love them both, but I’m choosing the blue decor!
Lizbeth I love your name! And I love me some blue!
Hi Tracy- I enjoy your monthly chats! Both of your tables look beautiful but I really love table #2. The colors, the wheat bundles, the tureen and candles- and the beautiful tablecloth all are so perfect for a Thanksgiving meal. Have a wonderful holiday hosting your lovely family!

Marilyn I’m loving those fall colors too! Thanks so much for voting.
#2 for me
Thanks Sharlene, I appreciate your vote!
I love the colors of #2, but I’m going to go with #1. The reason being the tall wheat/grasses on #2 – I don’t like not being able to see someone’s entire face during dinner conversations and feel these would get in the way. But both are lovely!!
Erika you are very observant! I love your thoughts, thank you!
I like number two a little better, The first one would be good for ‘Winter but not Christmas’.
Well Mary I’ll have to pull out the blue in winter! I appreciate your vote!
Both settings are beautiful. You cannot beat #2. it has to be #2 for Thanksgiving!!
Yvonne you are so kind with your comment, thank you. #2 does seem to be a favorite for Fall.
Both are so pretty but #2 is my favorite! Enjoy the Thanksgiving holiday with your family and friends.

No.2 is my favorite. Love all the fall colors and the green plates
Thanks Rhonda, I appreciate your vote!
The 2nd one!🥰
Robin I’m thinking #2 is leading the voting. Thanks so much for voting! 🥰
Love #2 but you need to break up the white of the plate. Maybe put the napkin underneath the green plate folded just as is?
Also…I fully support table linen obsessions!!! 😇
Love your thoughts Maggi! I Your table settings are always beautiful.
I like #2 feels more like fall
Debbie you are right, #2 is definitely more Fall! Thanks for voting!
No. 2 is my favorite. It has fall written all over it. Wishing you and your family a very blessed Thanksgiving and holiday season.
Aw Kathleen I’m wishing you a blessed holiday season too. And you’re right, #2 has fall written all over it!
