Back to School, Zinnias & Peach Season
Happy weekend, friends! It’s hard to believe we’re already halfway through August. Around here we’re soaking up the last little bits of summer before the girls head back to school this week. Here’s a peek at what we’ve been up to!

FAMILY
The girls start school this coming week, which means summer is officially winding down over here. How did that happen so fast?!
We also got Grace’s senior pictures back this week and I’m not sure my mama heart was ready! Here’s a little sneak peek. I still can’t believe we have a senior! We had her pictures taken by the talented Kimberly Carrier. Visit her site HERE! Below is 1 of the 20 we picked!
Also, I’ve had my eye on THESE for her photos and my flowers. What do you think?

And for one last bit of summer fun, Mike took the girls down to Denver to see Zach Bryan in concert! They had the best time and I loved that they got to have that night together.

Mike has also had a little time off as he gets ready to start his new job, so we’ve been sneaking in some fun dates of our own. My favorite was a breakfast date this past Friday at one of our favorite spots, Lucile’s!
Their strawberry rhubarb jam is SO good, and you can’t go wrong with their biscuits, beignets and cheesy grits. Give me all the carbs. 😂
I’m thankful for these slower days together before we all jump back into our fall routines!
IN OUR HOME
It’s officially peach season here in Colorado, and we are taking full advantage!
Our favorite dessert lately has been warm peaches over vanilla ice cream with a drizzle of caramel. So simple and SO good.
If you have some fresh peaches sitting on your counter, you have to try my Air Fryer Peaches recipe. Promise, it’s good! 🍑

IN THE GARDEN
The zinnias are THRIVING right now, the dahlias are blooming, and—dare I say it?—the Japanese beetles finally seem to be slowing down. 🙌🏻
I also hosted my second #FreeFlowerFridayClub of the summer this week! One of the questions I get asked most is, “How long does it take for all of the bouquets to disappear?”

Usually under two hours! 🥹 I absolutely love seeing people stop by and grab some flowers. This little tradition brings me so much joy. And people are loving these Sproutable backyard compostable cups too!

And another fun garden update: some of the zinnia seeds I saved from last year and planted in my VEGO raised beds along the side of our house are blooming! There’s something extra special about seeing flowers grow from seeds you saved yourself.
I can’t wait to save even more this year and see what surprises I get next summer!
Want to try it too? I’ll show you exactly how I do it here:

5 LAZY GIRL FAVORITES
And check out my five favorites for the week here!
- We have 4 of these and I still want one more!
- My yard needs this next!
- Saw THIS on our last flight and have been thinking about getting one since.
- As a former teacher I would have loved this as a teacher gift!
- We have two of THESE for our basement sofa and love them!
That’s a little peek at life around here this week! We’re soaking up the flowers, Colorado peaches and these last few summer moments before school starts.
I hope you have a beautiful week ahead, friends.
