Roots and Reflections: Christmas Decorating Has Begun

Christmas Decorating Has Begun
After a whirlwind trip to Texas last weekend for my daughter’s dance convention (where she won a scholarship as a top junior dancer — proud mom moment! 💃), I’ll admit that Monday hit hard. Meanwhile, my husband and our oldest daughter were in Utah for soccer, so it’s safe to say this week started in full family-travel mode.
Once I finally caught my breath, I managed to clear out my raised zinnia beds to make room for daffodils — a little bittersweet, but also a reminder that beauty keeps unfolding in new seasons. On Thursday, my mom stopped by, and together we decorated the mantel for Christmas. The star of the show? A real branch from our yard paired with the prettiest Moravian star garland from Terrain — it’s pure magic! I shared this over on Instagram and it sold out!
And tonight, my husband and I are trading garden boots for dress shoes as we attend the Respite Care Ball, a local nonprofit close to our hearts here in Northern Colorado. It’s such a joy to support something that gives so much to families in our community.
