Roots and Reflections : Thanksgiving and Bulbs
Hey there, sweet friend! This is Roots & Reflections, my weekly catch-up series where I invite you into my garden, my home, and a few of the messy, beautiful moments in between. Each week I share what’s growing, what’s inspiring me, and what I’m learning — both in the garden and in life. I’m so glad you are here!

Dance Mom Mode, Thanksgiving and Bulbs
What a week! Our house has been buzzing with activity — painters, pergolas sealed , and a freshly stained front door and fence. The weather here in Colorado has been absolutely gorgeous, and we couldn’t have timed it better before winter rolls in. As you’re reading this, I’m actually in Dallas with my 13-year-old for a dance convention (hello, dance mom mode ).

This week’s post is filled with Thanksgiving inspiration — from cozy tablescapes to a FREE instant place card download that we use every year at my mom’s table. Thank you for stopping by her “Tuesday with Tracy” post and voting on your favorite table! And while I may be dreaming of twinkle lights and Christmas trees (mine’s up but still undecorated!), my heart is full of gratitude this season — especially for you.
This Week On the Blog
What a fun week we had here on the blog! Mostly thanks t my amazing mom who shared her monthly Tuesdays With Tracy post. For November she asked for your help on voting for which tablescape she should use for Thanksgiving this year and a majority of you LOVED #2! She is an amazing host and what a blessing it is to live so close and to be able to celebrate with her and my dad! If you missed her tables click HERE to see them and cast your vote!
On Thursday I shared the Lasagna Bulb Method I tried last year and will be doing again this year. This year will be slightly different as I am using crocus for the top layer instead of muscari! So excited to see how it turns out. Have you tried this yet? There is still time!

5 Little Luxuries I’m Loving Right Now
Before we dive into this week’s 5 Little Luxuries I’m Loving Lately, a quick thank-you! When you shop through my links (even if you end up snagging something totally different), I earn a small commission — and it helps keep this lazy girl’s garden growing. I’m so thankful for your support!
- This would be gorgeous for your Thanksgiving table!
- Every year I forget that I need to by one of these!
- Collecting these for my grandchildren while they are on sale:) I use to read this to my kindergartners!
- This would make a darling hostess gift!
- Game changer for your tree! We have 3 sets.
Friends I Want You to Know
Today I want to introduce you to my brilliant friend Danielle who owns Maggie’s Farm Nola garden consultants (named after her late sweet pup). Danielle lives in Louisiana and she and I have become fast friends over on Instagram. I go to her for all of my vegetable growing questions ( she is so encouraging!). I have not dipped my toe in to veggies yet but if I do she will be my consultant! Check her out here on Instagram and also over on her website, Maggiesfarmnola.com for her guides, plans and so much more revolving around raised bed gardening! Tell her I sent you!

Coming Up On the Blog
Next week I will be sharing some Thanksgiving ideas along with free printables like these place cards! You can see how I used them here in this blog post.
