Tuesdays With Tracy : A September Peek Into My Garden and Home
Hi Friends!
As you say farewell to summer, autumn welcomes you with the open arms of a new season. I have always loved this month with the leaves beginning to change to warm colors, and sweaters begin to appear. The early morning sun glow on the pond has been a delight.

“September is dressing herself in showy dahlias and splendid marigolds and starry zinnias.’ – Oliver Wendell Holmes
A September Peek Into My Garden and Home
September in My Garden
Let’s look at my garden first. She is enjoying the milder temps and the good riddance of those awful Japanese beetles. The roses are in their last flush of blooms after being eaten alive by those buggers.
You can see my last month’s post here with more garden pictures!
This rose is called “Fairy” and I have always planted it in our gardens. It brings fond memories of my mother who had one in her garden.

I made a big mistake and disconnected the soaker hose to my raised zinnia bed and forgot to turn it back on. It was off for about eight hot days before I realized it, but those babies are tough suckers and continue to bloom.

I have been making zinnia bouquets as much as I can before our first frost which might be coming this week.

September In my Home
Do you make any seasonal changes in your home?
I make some simple changes in Autumn. I have pulled out a tray of pumpkins…

And also my mother’s pewter pumpkin pie holder…

I’m still enjoying some starfish and ocean inspired art…

Currently on our coffee table… a few autumn leaves and an end of summer bouquet.

Our cosmos chose not to bloom until late August, but that was a blessing because my unwatered zinnias are looking a bit shabby. There is one sweet zinnia tucked into this bouquet.
My late blooming cosmos caused me to ponder this verse…
“He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end.” Ecclesiastes 3:11

Faith plays a very important part of my life. I am excited because for me September brings the start of Bible Study Fellowship. I’ve been enjoying that for about ten years. In good times and difficult times I receive so much encouragement and comfort from studying the Bible.
If you would like to receive a Bible please leave me a message in the comments below and I will send you one.
In Colorado autumn ushers in the beginning of the end of green grass and flowers. I love summer but it is beautiful to see the seasons change.
“The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of our God endures forever.” Isaiah 40:8
Bring on October!
Love,

Congratulations on the upcoming birth of your grandson. You’re in for a joyous adventure with your grandson. Enjoy every minute you have with him. The time goes by much too fast. ❤️
Fondly,
Alby Furlong
Ally you are so right about enjoying every minute with our new great grandson! I’m thinking we’re going to welcome him this week!
Alby! That darn autocorrect 😄
Tracy, your garden looks like a battlefield aftermath, but somehow Fairy keeps winning! My zinnias have surrendered to the heat already, but I guess they wouldn’t dare disappoint you. The cosmos are late bloomers too – maybe they were just catching up on summer naps! Love the autumnal decor, especially the pumpkins. Mine are probably still thinking it’s July. Your Bible study sounds amazing – I need to find a fellowship group for my collection of half-eaten cookies. Bring on October, but maybe not before my lawn figures out winter isn’t a joke. 😉đếm ngược ngày thi
