Hello!

We are enjoying a fabulous Fall here in Colorado. Welcome to my home, I’m Kelly’s mom, this is the current view out our living room window.

I’m not so sure about that pumpkin sitting but I think he was thoroughly enjoying autumn in his neck of the woods!

My Fall Home Tour

Come on in!  I’ve cozied up our home a bit and I’m happy you’re here. This is our entryway with an old vintage sideboard that I usually change for the seasons.

Last October I featured an easy DIY on how to make these wheat bundles. Do you ever see things and think maybe I can make that for a better price. I don’t always have time but if I can whip something out quickly and affordably I’ll do it!

To the right of our entryway is the dining room.

A couple of weeks ago I happened to be looking on Facebook Marketplace and saw that someone was giving away birdhouse gourds for free.  Well I’m all about free, aren’t you?  They had eleven of them so  I gave some to Kelly and her sister, Lindsey.

The lady was very nice and she sent me a photo of their duck cage. Every year they grow the gourd vines to cover the cage with shade in the hot summer weather. Such a “cool” idea!

As we move toward the living room there is a space by the stairs that goes down to the basement.

In Autumn I love to pull out a mixture of tartan, plaid, and block print  throws and pillows. Layering for warmth and comfort makes things cozy as temperatures begin to cool off.

On the kitchen table I threw some curly willow in an antique iron urn and placed it on a kantha throw. Quick, and easy peasy.

I love the afternoon shadows that autumn brings.

Do you rotate pillows and throws?  It’s one of my favorite ways to change for the seasons.

Currently on our coffee table… I love the smell of this candle, Farm Apple Pumpkin by Better Homes and Gardens Walmart collection.

I’ve had those two miniature acrylic paintings for forty years.

And on the old trunk in front of the living room window I placed a bowl of faux pumpkins and dried hydrangeas.  I couldn’t find any mini pinkish Cinderella pumpkins so I painted some.

I actually love real pumpkins and gourds.  But, sometimes I like to just be able to put things together from my stash of decor items.  Are you a “Only real for me” kind of person, or a “faux for sure” kind of person?

“I’m so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers.” – L. M. Montgomery Anne of Green Gables

On my heart is a feeling of gratitude for the beautiful changing season.  But yet there is also a feeling of concern and compassion for the people  of the United States who have been devastated by storms.  I hope you join me in praying for healing and restoration. And let’s keep our eyes open to “Look for the helpers”, which is what Mr. Rogers was encouraged to do, by his mother.

Love,

Tracy

  4. Pretty fall tour. I saw your simmer pot recipe. I just created a recipe with pumpkin, spices, and apple cider. It filled the house with a bit of pumpkin heaven.
