Tuesday’s With Tracy: Three Thanksgiving Centerpieces
Hi Friends,
It’s so good to be with you on this crisp autumn day! Thank you for joining me from all over the world. I know some of you are in different climates and for some of you spring is in the air.
Here in Colorado the temperatures are dropping along with the leaves, candles are burning, and it’s time to get cozy.
“Every leaf speaks bliss to me, fluttering from the Autumn tree.” – Emily Bronte
And yes, those are Christmas lights on the back fence. We put them up at the end of October as it can get so cold outside in November. I’ll wait to light them up but, it may or may not be before the end of this month, ha! I used to wait until December 1st but now I want to enjoy them longer.
Three Thanksgiving Centerpieces
In America we celebrate the Thanksgiving holiday on the fourth Thursday of November. How cool is it to have a day set aside to rest, eat food, and give thanks to God. So, let’s set a Thanksgiving table.
The table is set but now I need your help in deciding which centerpiece to use.
Every year the guests at our table change. We love hosting family and friends and I always use these “Thankful For” tags at each place setting. All subscribers to the blog have access to a free printables library as a gift from Kelly. You can find the password at the bottom of all of her emails!
The gold vintage linen napkins were my mother’s and I’m thankful to have them as a fond memory of what a gift she was.
1. CENTERPIECE NUMBER ONE
I pulled three of the wheat bundles from the sideboard and placed them in this wooden tray. The tray will be featured in all three centerpieces. I mean, how easy is it to just lift up a tray and replace it with food when it’s time to eat.
2. CENTERPIECE NUMBER TWO
This centerpiece is simply gathered pine cones and battery operated candles. These candles sit on my mantle most of the time but I love to change things up and move my decor items around.
3. CENTERPIECE NUMBER THREE
I borrowed the two hurricane candle holders from Kelly and just nestled them into the pine cones. The hurricanes would be great just sitting on the table but I wanted to use the tray for ease of replacing it with food.
We usually extend this table with leaves and add another table to the end of it to have all our guests together. When thinking of large dinners I typically purchase several affordable matching tablecloths and then I will mix and match napkins.
No matter what the table setting looks like, it is the people sitting around our table that are the blessing. Let’s be grateful this November for all our gifts and blessings.
“When I started counting my blessings, my whole life turned around.” – Willie Nelson

Have a happy November and a beautiful Thanksgiving.
As much as I love #1, I think the height will be too high and will obscure some vision.
Voting for #3. Classic hurricanes with the candle well below the top of the glass. Yes, I was one of those people whose cashmere sweater caught on fire at Thanksgiving due to reaching my hand over the table.
Hi Jennifer, thanks for commenting! By the way, when Kelly was a child her sweatshirt arm caught on fire when reaching over a candle on the table. At least it wasn’t cashmere!!!
Tracy, your table is so pretty, and what a great idea to place the centerpiece on a tray for easy moving! All three ideas are so pretty, but I really like the wheat bundles! Thanks so much for sharing, and have a very happy Thanksgiving!

It looks like the wheat bundles are a common choice and I’d agree. There is something about them representing fall harvest and abundance to me, that they seem perfect for your Thanksgiving table. The others are beautiful as well, but I feel like they could be used at other time of the year. Your decorating ideas inspire me! Thanks!

#3 looks best to me. For generations, my family always uses the food as centerpieces, so we can pass seconds, thirds and more for hours.
