A Week of Goodbyes, New Beginnings and Free Flowers

This week held a little bit of everything, some hard goodbyes, exciting new beginnings, meaningful time with family and faith, and finally, my first #FreeFlowerFridayClub of the summer!

Family

This week, we said goodbye to our oldest son, Easton, our daughter-in-law, Katy, and our sweet grandson as they packed up and moved to Nebraska.

Easton accepted what truly feels like a dream job, and while we are so incredibly happy and thankful for this opportunity, saying goodbye was still hard. We are especially grateful that they will only be a drive away. I am already reminding myself of that!

We are also still waiting for Grace’s MRI to be scheduled. In the meantime, she has her first club soccer games this weekend, and she is so excited to be back on the field. They won both games yesterday and she had a goal! We are continuing to pray for answers and wisdom as we figure out what is going on with her back and hip pain.

Crosby has spent the week at The Studio for choreography week, where she is learning all of her competition dances for the upcoming season. It is always such a fun and busy week for her, and she loves getting back into the studio with her friends.

I have also been meeting and training for my new role with Bible Study Fellowship, or BSF. This year, I will be serving as the Children’s Supervisor and helping shepherd the children’s leaders.

I feel incredibly blessed to serve in a ministry that has helped me grow so much in my own faith. We will be studying Romans this year, and I truly cannot wait to dive in.

BSF is a worldwide Bible study with groups all over, so please let me know if you would ever like more information about finding one near you.

Jesus Calling devo

Mike has been such a huge source of support and encouragement through all of these changes. One of my favorite parts of our day is our quiet time together in the mornings, when we read THIS devotional and pray together. It has become such a meaningful way to begin our days.

In the Garden

On Friday, I hosted my first #FreeFlowerFridayClub of the summer!

This year, I debuted the bouquets in the cutest striped compostable cups from Sproutable, and I absolutely loved how they turned out. They made the flowers easy to give away, but they also looked so cheerful and special.

I love these Sproutable cups!

I also shared my easy DIY flower food recipe over on Instagram, and it was such a hit! I love using it for my own bouquets, especially now that the zinnias and dahlias are finally blooming.

In Our Home

Around the house, I’ve been having fun finding little ways to make things prettier and more functional.

I brought out my wall-hanging propagation station again, but instead of using it for plant cuttings, I’m using it as a vase for flowers from the garden. I love when something can be used in more than one way, and it looks so pretty filled with fresh blooms!

I’ve also been in a bit of an organizing mood and have been tackling a few of those hidden spaces that seem to get messy so quickly, especially underneath our cabinets. I found THESE two-tiered shelves, and I love how much more usable space they create without having to do anything complicated.

And while I still haven’t ordered the bamboo cooling sheets I mentioned last week, I did get THESE to help keep me cool at night. So cute, right?! I’ll share a pic soon!

Apparently my August home mood is flowers, organizing and trying not to melt. 😉

This Week’s 5 Lazy Girl Favorites

Here are the five things I’m loving, eyeing or finally trying this week:

  1. How cool would these look at night around my raised beds?
  2. Just got this for some spots out front not getting enough water!
  3. I want a few of THESE for my pots!
  4. One of the best things for our mornings!
  5. Just got THESE and can’t wait to try them with flowers!

Thanks for catching up with me this week! This season feels like such a mix of holding on and letting go, kids growing up, new chapters beginning, flowers blooming and summer somehow flying by way too fast.

I’m trying to soak up the little things as much as I can…morning walks, fresh-cut flowers, time with family and those quiet moments that make an ordinary week feel special.

I hope you’re finding a few of those moments in your week too. 💛

I’d love to have you hang out with me some more! Feel free to follow along with me on any of the platforms linked below.
