Using Pitchers as Creative Vases for Flowers

Some people collect shoes.
Apparently, I collect pitchers.

I didn’t realize it until one day I was cutting flowers, looked around my kitchen, and thought, why do I have this many pitchers… and why do I love every single one?

This white gurgle pot I discovered thanks to my mom having one! It gurgles when you pour water!

Ceramic, glass, old, new, thrifted, gifted, impulse-bought because “it felt right” they all end up living their best life holding flowers at some point. And honestly? Pitchers make the best lazy-girl vases.

Using Pitchers as Creative Vases for Flowers

First of all, they’re meant to hold liquid (major win). Second, they already have a handle, which somehow makes even the most casual bouquet look intentional. And third, they’re not precious. If one tips over or gets a little dirty from garden stems… oh well. That’s life.

This French metal pitcher was also a flea market find!

Most of the time, I just grab whatever pitcher is closest — fill it with water, give the stems a quick trim, and call it done. Zinnias, cosmos, garden clippings, grocery store flowers… they all look better in a pitcher. Even the slightly wonky arrangements. Especially the slightly wonky ones.

I’ve used pitchers on the kitchen counter, the dining table, outside on the patio, and even plopped one right in the middle of a casual weeknight dinner setup. It’s one of those easy swaps that makes your home feel styled without actually trying.

Below I’m sharing a few of the pitchers I own and love, plus some pretty ones I’ve found if you want to start (or, ahem, add to) your own little pitcher collection. Consider this your permission slip to stop saving them for “special occasions” and just use what you have.

Flowers don’t need a fancy vase.
They just need water… and a pitcher that’s ready for its moment.

Pitchers for Creative Vases

I am always on the hunt for creative vases for flowers and I thought you might want to see several that I am loving!

Personally I have a huge crush on the blue and white pitcher with the bunny!

My goal this year is to use more pitchers for flowers!

Do you put flowers in your pitchers too?

I’d love to have you hang out with me some more! Feel free to follow along with me on any of the platforms linked below.
