A Fun Fall Find

Floating Flowers in a Pumpkin Jar

If you’ve been around here for a while, you know I’m all about easy, beautiful ways to bring the garden indoors—especially when it involves zinnias! Today is all about my latest fun Fall find! when I stumbled across this adorable glass-lidded pumpkin jar by Anchor Hocking, I knew I had to do something fun with it. After all, what’s more “fall” than pumpkins?

But instead of filling it with candy or treats (though, don’t get me wrong, that’s also a great idea), I decided to use it as a vase. Yes, you heard me—a vase! I filled the pumpkin jar with water and floated my favorite zinnia blooms right on top.

A Fun Fall Find: Floating Zinnias in a Pumpkin Jar

I couldn’t wait to show you this idea. You should have seen me walking all over the house trying it in e spots. It made it to the kitchen, family room and dining room. You can see where it landed in my FALL HOME TOUR here! All I know is that I am ALL about popping color this fall!

Let me tell you, the result is pure autumn magic.

Why I Love This Idea:

  1. Easy Elegance: Floating zinnias in water instantly feels fancy without any effort. The clear glass of the jar lets the bright, cheery zinnias really pop, and the pumpkin shape adds a perfect seasonal touch.
  2. Conversation Starter: Whether you place it on your dining table, kitchen counter, or by the entryway, this floating zinnia pumpkin jar is sure to catch people’s attention. It’s such a unique way to showcase fall blooms.
  3. Flexible Decor: You can switch up the look anytime by floating different flowers or even adding a few floating candles for a cozy evening vibe. The glass pumpkin works for Halloween, Thanksgiving, or just because!

How I Did It:

Super simple, friends. All you need is:

  • A glass-lidded pumpkin jar (I found mine by Anchor Hocking on Amazon).
  • Water to fill it up about three-quarters full.
  • A handful of fresh zinnia blooms—just snip the heads off and float them on the surface. Or any flower you have access to!

That’s it! In minutes, you’ll have a fall floral arrangement that’s eye-catching and effortless.

A Few Tips:

  • Mix up your colors: Zinnias come in so many stunning shades. Try mixing a few for a rainbow effect, or stick to all one color for a more dramatic look.
  • Keep it fresh: Switch out the water every few days to keep everything looking fresh and lovely.
  • Add a touch of whimsy: Sprinkle in some fall leaves or mini decorative pumpkins around the jar for an extra festive feel.
