Senior Year Traditions, Soccer Goals & Almost September

| |

How in the world is it almost September?! I feel like we were just kicking off summer, and now the calendar is filling up with school, sports, Bible Study Fellowship, and all the things that come with this season of life. It was another busy weekend around here, but such a good one!

Senior Year Traditions, Soccer Goals & Almost September

FAMILY

On Thursday, I had our Bible Study Fellowship children’s leaders over for a fun time of food and fellowship. We are getting ready to start up again soon, and I am so excited to see what God will do this year as we study the book of Romans. It was so sweet to spend time together before everything officially gets rolling!

Almost September

Senior year is definitely gearing up for Grace, too. She had Senior Sunrise at school with donuts and breakfast burritos, followed by their first assembly of the year. And of course, she wore the famous senior painted overalls! These overalls have been passed down from senior to senior, and Grace is officially the 12th senior to wear them. How fun is that?! I absolutely love all the traditions her school has and getting to watch her soak them up during this special year.

Friday, Mike took Grace, Hudson, and Hudson’s girlfriend golfing, and we met up with them for dinner afterward. The weather was absolutely amazing, and it was just one of those simple, really fun nights together. Crosby had been busy being the team manager for her middle school football team, so she and I joined everyone after golf.

Saturday was all about sports! Grace had a soccer game about an hour and a half away and scored a goal! Her team tied 3–3, and she played such a great game.

Then we raced back home to catch her boyfriend’s football game. Our local college does the coolest thing where every other year, the area high schools take turns playing games in the college stadium. It makes the whole night feel extra special! Happy to say his team won, and he had an amazing game with four touchdown passes.

Definitely one of those weekends where we were running from one thing to the next…but I wouldn’t trade getting to be there for all of it. These are the days. 🤍

IN THE GARDEN

Over on Instagram this week, I shared a little roundup of things in my Lazy Girl garden basket that just make sense. Basically, these are the things I keep reaching for over and over again because they make gardening easier, prettier, or just a little more fun.

I’m talking everything from my favorite pruners and fertilizer to organza bags for seed saving, worm castings, hose timers, garden tools, and a few not-so-obvious things that somehow always end up out there with me. You know I am all about working smarter, not harder in the garden!

I’ll share my full Lazy Girl garden basket below in case you want to peek at what has earned a permanent spot in my stash.

IN OUR HOME

Now that September is basically here, I am officially getting the itch to make a few little changes around the house. Nothing major…just enough to make things feel a little more fall-ish.

First up: pillows. I’m thinking about swapping out some of our summer pillows for a few fun fall options like THESE and THESE. Pillows are probably one of my favorite ways to change a room without actually changing a room. Ha!

I’ve also had my eye on some new fall bedding for our bedroom. We have a lot of blues in there already, and lately I keep picturing some warm browns mixed in with the blue. I think it could be so pretty and cozy for fall! I found a brown gingham duvet that I’m seriously considering. However, I still have the blue and white floral one seen in our bedroom in the picture below. Last time I shared this duvet it sold out because SO many of you loved it too! Maybe they would be pretty on the bed together?! We shall see!

And thank you for all of your input on my dining room table last week! So many of you voted to keep the table brown and stick with the white chairs, at least for now. And I think you may have talked me into it.

I’ll leave it as-is for awhile. I think I was mostly just itching for a change…which apparently happens to me every time the seasons start to shift!
