Tile Time

The tile is looking good!

With the tile being delivered last week and my amazing contractor Lou and his son Isaiah being ready to go, the tile is almost completed! Yes, you heard me…these guys are incredible. They have been coming in to work on the floors in the mornings while I am at school. I literally get to come home to a fun new surprise each day. To say I have been a bit distracted at school might be an understatement. 😊

Are you seeing this progress?

The best part is that things have gone so smoothly…I keep waiting for something to go wrong. Also, hoping that by just saying that I haven’t jinxed the whole thing!

THe contrast of the white tile against the wood makes my heart happy!

I’m loving how the tile looks against the wood. I’m also loving the contrast it brings.

THe black strip of tile adds just the right amount of detail to the entryway.

Speaking of contrast, isn’t that black strip of tile so cool? It’s right at the threshold of our playroom and adds some contrast to the stark white tile. A fun pop of detail if you will!

Also a little bit of a sneak peek into the playroom/arts and crafts room makeover that I’m working on as well. Isn’t that pink rug so much fun?

Grout

picking grout can make or break your tile.

The biggest decision this week was the color of the grout. I have to give major props to my husband because he chose the “mist” color we eventually went with. Initially I had wanted something darker, but once we laid the samples on the tile itself it was obvious that the lighter gray looked better.

Here are some fun progress shots! I am in love with my tile choices from Jeffrey Court and I have to say the quality is just amazing! So thankful to be a part of this awesome contest!

A sneak peek of the tile doormat!

There is a pretty big surprise in the works as well that I can hardly wait to show you! We decided on the word for our tile doormat! I think I will be keeping the word we chose a secret until the big reveal though so I hope you will stick around! After seeing the pictures above do you have any guesses on what word we chose?

****Also if you would like to vote for me in this awesome tile competition you can click the blue link HERE and then scroll until you find my picture and click vote!
