Merry and Bright Christmas Home Tour

| | |

Welcome to our 2024 Christmas Home Tour! As the garden winds down, I’m thrilled to bring the cozy magic of the season indoors. There’s something so special about the shift from tending flowers outside to decking the halls with festive cheer. Christmas is my absolute favorite time of year – maybe it’s because my birthday is just three days before Christmas, or because nothing beats sipping coffee from a Santa mug by the twinkling lights of the tree. This season is all about traditions, family, and celebrating the true meaning of Christmas: the birth of Jesus.

Welcome to Our Merry and Bright Christmas Home Tour

I am so excited you are here, welcome! This year’s tour will be of our main level, and to say that I took a lot of pictures would be an understatement! Ha! So this will be a VERY picture heavy post because I had a hard time narrowing them down. Get ready for a lot of color, vintage touches and handmade fun! This might be one of my most favorite trees ever too! ( Check out last year’s here!)

Also, if you find that you have any questions while browsing the tour make sure to leave them in the comments below and I’ll make sure to get back to you!

Let’s start in our entry that has my beloved Tattered Pew!

Merry and Bright Christmas Home Tour Entry

This is one of my favorite areas to decorate and you will start to notice that this year I used a lot of color and pattern!

My mom helped me make these darling checked fabric covers for my sconces. Aren’t they so fun? I hope to share the DIY real soo. Such an easy way to add color and fun on a budget…no sewing required!

This Fontanini nativity you see is the same one from my childhood! I love to have it front and center as a reminder about what Christmas is really all about and use it in unexpected ways. Last year I used as a centerpiece that lit up! In these pictures baby Jesus is in the manger but our family tradition is to keep him in the kitchen drawer until Christmas morning!

Even though we have a fireplace with a mantel I decided it would be fun to hang these block print stockings on our stairs instead. I love the pop of color they add! And did you notice the paper chain looped on our banister and garland? I found a ton of cheap colored paper at JOANN that had patterns and colors that tied in to our decor this year. I love the handmade touch and it’s simple to make with your kids or grandkids!

Let’s Stroll in to Our Kitchen

Our Christmas home tour takes us into the kitchen next. It’s connected to our entry and here you can look back at our front door and a sweet little nook with our cozy blue plaid chair.

The table has gorgeous blooming amaryllis and a huge fake tree! Nothing is off limits when it comes to trying things out with decorating. Would you put a fake tree like this one up on a table?

Back over to the kitchen. Our kitchen is painted a beautiful blue called Blustery Sky by Sherwin Williams and I love how it looks all year long but it really shines at Christmas!

The color from our entry is carried into our kitchen with ribbons, greenery, wreaths and of course Santa! My vintage Santa mug collection and a light up Santa blow mold I found at a local flea market steal the show in this space.

As you peek through this door in our kitchen you will see that the tree I had in here last year is now in our dining room! I love to move things around and have been known to have a Christmas tree in every room!

Our Family Room Decorated for Christmas & Our Tree

Welcome to my favorite part…the room that holds our gorgeous flocked Christmas tree all decked out in vintage ornaments. Some from my husband Mike’s family and some we have collected together. My kids have told me that this tree is their all time favorite. Mine too!

Color upon color makes for a very merry and bright Christmas in our home and you can’t help but smile when you are here.

I use to stick to traditional reds and greens for Christmas and still love that look. But this year the pinks are sneaking their way into my heart!

Our Christmas Mantel

Christmas mantel and tree

Our fireplace mantle is rich with multiple layers of greenery garland for a lush full look. The gold ornament garland got embellished with some red ornaments to really make it pop! And you better believe I added battery operated candles, paper ornaments and little churches to my demijohn collection. Oh and did you spot the dried peonies? They were a gift from my mom and her garden!

Cozy and collected with pops of colors like pinks and red make the decor feel cohesive and festive!

And you know I am missing my garden and zinnias so there are forced bulbs scattered around as well! I recently planted my paperwhites and I can’t wait for those to grow. You can learn just how easy they are in this blog post!

Our Last Stop, The Dining Room

Our final stop on our merry and bright Christmas home tour is the dining room. And you better believe that the colors and patterns are just as prevalent in here as they are in the other rooms of our house!

Pinks and reds really showed off in here and my beloved faux (yes faux) paperwhite is the focal point of the table!

Dining room View

I kept this tree simple with gold wooden beads and mini paper tree ornaments. I love the simple elegant look. We host Christmas day at our house and keep things simple with our tradition of taco soup! This dining room has some very special memories!
