Spring at the Modern Farmhouse

Hi friends, I hope you have had a lovely week! Can you believe it is already March? That means Spring is basically knocking at the door. So what better time than this  to share my very first Spring Home Tour with you.

Today some friends and I are sharing our homes all dressed up for Spring as part of the Spring at the Farmhouse Tour.  If you are stopping by from the lovely Little Farmstead, welcome! Julie is from Seattle and I just adore her style and lovely old farmhouse! If this is your first time here,  I would love for you to look around.  My husband and I have lived here for ten years and have gradually turned this builder grade home into our very own “modern farmhouse”…one project at a time!

Spring has been on my mind lately. I’m guessing it’s because it was close to 70 degrees here in Colorado last week and that glorious weather has me longing for fresh flowers and sunshine (I won’t mention how it snowed here earlier this week)!  Today I am sharing our kitchen, dining room and entryway and although I have shared this part of our home before, this time it will look like a brand new space since we recently refreshed the entire house with new paint. You can read all about the new paint by clicking here!

These lovely light pink peonies are actually silk flowers that I purchased from Pier One! Don’t they look like the real thing? They will have to do until my own peonies start blooming in our yard.

After refreshing the house with all new paint I also had the itch to de-clutter. It has felt so good to purge and clean our home of all unnecessary items!  This makes my husband happy too!

I love how our new doors, painted in Tricorn Black from Sherwin Williams, pop against our white walls and furniture.

Most of the items I used to decorate I already had around the house, so decorating for spring was very affordable since I shopped my own home! These awesome bowls are by Rae Dunn (which I already had) and the pink lantern and bunny runner are both from the Target Dollar bins!

Our stainless steel farmhouse sink was purchased from Costco and was very affordable. I think it adds the perfect touch of modern farmhouse to our kitchen!

More of my beloved Rae Dunn pottery collection proudly displayed on my mug rack from Decor Steals.

The Dining Room

I still get all giddy when I look back down through the dining room to see our freshly painted black doors. They definitely give me the modern farmhouse feel!

To add a touch of spring in our dining room I simply removed the rug under the table for a cleaner look. (See here for the before) Rug shopping may be up next on my list! 🙂

The Entryway

These faux flowers are all from Michaels. I purchased them while all of their stems were 50% off and love how they bring the house to life!  Faux flowers are a simple way to add the perfect spring touches to your home!  I also carried the color pink throughout each room on our main level to give it a cohesive spring feel.

The pew is all dressed up for spring with pretty pink accents and this sweet little zip code pillow that my sister made for me.

I hope you enjoyed this lovely little tour of our home all done up for Spring. I’m so excited to share even more Spring and Easter decor with you all as the season grows closer.  In the meantime, I invite you to visit my friend Megan over at The Definery Co. to see how she added touches of Spring to her beautiful home.

Happy Spring my friends and I pray you have a blessed weekend!
