Welcome

If you are joining me from Chelsey over at Little Nest of 4‘s beautiful summer tour, welcome!  Come on in and take a peek at our entryway and dining room all dressed up for Summer! If you are visiting here for the first time, my name is Kelly and I live in beautiful Colorado. I’m a wife, mom, step-mom and kindergarten teacher. I pride myself on being able to update and upgrade our builder grade house into a Pinterest worthy home all in my spare time and on a tight budget! But honestly, I’m just a hot mess mama who needs Jesus and coffee every morning! Can you relate?

Our Entry

The Tattered Pew-Easy Summer Styling

First, let’s just stop and stare at this precious little pew. I have added some vintage quilts under her and a Pottery Barn pillow on her. The metal bucket with the flags was a fun vintage find at our local flea market and I simply plopped some dollar store flags inside. Simple and easy styling that pops and says summer.

Before I started decorating for summer I knew I wanted to go with a red, white and blue theme so I gathered anything with those colors I could find around our home and laid it all out on our kitchen island. Then just started adding the items around the house. It was awesome because I shopped the house and saved money!

Easy Summer Styling with pretty church pews.

Our entry is one of my favorite spots because it showcases my very first pew! This sweet little thing is the perfect size and the first thing you see when you walk in to our home.  I love decorating her for all of the seasons.  The story of the pew is a great one and will give you all the juicy details on how we found her and why I started this blog!

The surface of this buffet offers a pretty and easy are to focus on for summer styling.

As you walk past the pew you are usually greeted by our sweet Wheaten Terrier puppy , Kona. You also walk right into our dining room and catch a glimpse in the background of one of my favorite pieces of painted furniture, the green dresser!

The Sideboard

I love having pieces of furniture that you can decorate and change with the seasons and holidays and this sideboard is no exception. I am constantly changing it up and layering things in front of the huge chalkboard! Once again I love how easy it is to change and style this space.

Easy Summer Styling

The basket of baseballs might be the only remaining decor from last summer’s home tour! I have that sickness, you know, the one where I am constantly rearranging things in my home! 🙂

Layering art is a great way for some Easy Summer Styling!

I found this sweet little flag painting at Rod Works and knew it would add that patriotic summer feel I was looking for. It compliments my blue vintage window and Amazing Grace sheet music sign perfectly. The french basket you can find here and the white flowers are faux geraniums from JoAnn Fabrics.

The Dining Table

Across from the sideboard and in front of the window is our dining room table. This table is very special to my husband and I because it was a gift from his parents when we got married. They wanted us to always find time to come together as a family at the table…and we do!A view of our home featuring some easy summer styling ideas.

I have made some changes in here recently! We just added these blue curtains from IKEA and added the painted white metal chairs at the end of the table. I’m still not so sure about the curtains. I love my shiplap wall so much and sometimes I feel like they may take away from it. But one thing I do know is that I love the color and we are going to live with them for awhile longer!Touches of flowers and painted children's chairs are fun summer decor.

Coastal touches make for casual and easy summer styling in any home.

Aren’t these white flowers just gorgeous? They are real and from my sweet neighbor Megan’s yard. She let me cut them and we sure did enjoy them for some more easy summer styling. They look like they were made for these IKEA glasses vases! I love how large and dramatic they are.

Fresh cut flowers easily make every room feel like summer.

Peeking through the flowers and past my blue chippy child’s’ chair you can catch a glimpse of another new addition to our dining room. It’s a wall scroll from Alyssa over at Cottonwood Shanty.

A bright and airy dining room is perfect for easy summer styling!

Flowers, flags and fun colors make styling your home for summer easy!

Use large hanging signs for easy summer styling.

The verse on this scroll goes perfectly with the sentiments I shared earlier about our dining room table, don’t you think?
