Top Ten Posts of 2019

Happy New Year friends! Today’s post is all about my top ten posts of 2019. My hope is that you have had some wonderful time to celebrate with family and friends these past few weeks. I have taken a much needed break from blogging and teaching and have been able to spend some incredible time with my family. There has also been some time to reflect on this past year of blogging and to see what types of blog posts my readers (you!) enjoyed the most last year!  I did this last year and so many of you loved my 2018 year in review

So I decided to do it again and join some of my friends who are doing the same. A huge thank you to Krista of The Happy Housie who gathered this group together. You can visit several other fabulous bloggers top post of 2019 by scrolling to the bottom. But before I share those posts with you I wanted to say a huge thank you to my amazing husband, kids and family… and you, for all of your love and support! I couldn’t do this crazy fun side gig without you and I am truly grateful.

 10. Quick and Easy Heart Shaped Shortbread Cookies

Starting off my top ten post of 2019 are these heart shaped shortbread cookies are absolutely delicious and most definitely adorable! You will adore how easy they are to make (only 3 ingredients!) and your friends and family will feel the love. A perfect treat for anytime of year and especially on Valentine’s Day!

9. How To Make A Mini Tea Cup Topiary

Anything mini or tea related in my book is always a good idea! I loved making these mini tea cup topiaries with items mostly from the dollar store and around our home. They were quick, simple and oh so cute!

8. Simple No-Sew Drop Cloth Curtains With Colorful Tassel Trim

Simple no sew curtains with colorful tassel trim.

I have a bit of an obsession with making no-sew drop cloth projects! The girl’s playroom was in need of some window treatments and I had seen a ton of drop cloth curtains over on Pinterest. I wanted to make some with a fun and colorful touch so I added this hot pink tassel trim and instantly feel in love! The color and ease of these curtains made this one of my favorite projects.

7. Colorful Cottage Spring Kitchen Tour

Spring is always a favorite time for me to bring in lots of color and flowers! We often still have snow here in Colorado so adding touches of Spring, especially in the kitchen is a lot of fun! So you will see lots of peonies and green jadeite…my favorite! Our kitchen has the cottage feel I love and my favorite green dresser makes an appearance of course!

Mugs for days and a green painted dresser give this cottage kitchen a colorful nod to Spring.

6. Christmas on The Porch

This past year’s Christmas porch was a surprise for me coming in at #6! Honestly, my mom and I whipped out this porch decor quickly and I wasn’t in love with it like last year’s. But apparently a lot of you liked how simple and realistic it was. I now look back at the pictures and love it too!

5. Blue and Green Summer Decorating Ideas

Anytime I can sneak our sweet pup Kona into a post I know it will be a hit! I had fun partnering with Rod Works Colorado to bring together this blue and green summer decorating post. It is always a favorite place for me to shop. The colors blue and green are a staple in my house and i’m glad you all liked this post too!

Comfortable summer decorating ideas that anyone can enjoy...even a sweet puppy.

4. How to Get a Weathered Driftwood Look When Painting Furniture

Where are my furniture painting friends at? I was nervous to paint my precious little pew but I absolutely think it was the right choice! This post pops up on Pinterest quite often so it’s fun to see that others love this painting technique and color just as much as me. I used Annie Sloan paint mixed with some Rustoleum chalk paint . If you missed this post pop over and take a peek because I used a process that is easy and can’t be messed up!

3. Cozy and Collected Fall Home Tour

The title says it all….cozy and collected! Sometimes I can’t put a finger on my style so I like to use the word collected. I have a lot of collections. Do you ever feel like it’s hard to nail down your style or is it just me? One thing is for sure that I LOVE collecting baskets and using them to decorate. Come take a tour of our Fall home!

2. A Red, White and Touches of Blue Christmas

Our tree and decor this past Christmas was my all time favorite! Looks like you all loved it too because it was my second most viewed post of 2019 and I just posted it a little over a month ago. I can’t blame you I love Christmas too! Looks like Kona liked it as well!

And now without further ado the number one read blog post here on The Tattered Pew for 2019 was…

1. My Honest Review of Pottery Barn York Slip Covered Sofa

My Pottery Barn sofa!!! Wow, this splurge on my dream sofa has definitely paid off in more ways than one. We still love it and thank you for loving it as well. 😉 I am always honest here on the blog and want to help you all out as much as possible. So hopefully this post will continue to help others out as they search for their dream sofa as well.

Looking Back at 2019

For me 2019 was a great year for blogging. There were a lot of changes personally (the main one being returning to teach kinder full time) and a lot of changes on the blog. My friends and I started the weekly Welcome Home Sunday series, I had a blast returning to Haven and even had some incredible pinch me moments. Some of my favorite projects that didn’t make the list above include Felted Heart Pillows Fun and Easy DIY Book Garland and How to Easily Stencil an Accent Wall.   All of which I am so very thankful.

Thank You!

Thank you for stopping by today and checking out my top ten posts of 2019. I’m not sure what 2020 holds for me in this blogging journey but I do know who has plans for me and I am excited to see where those take me! This post wouldn’t be possible without you, my readers. So thank you for all of your love and support! Cheers to 2020 and many more fun posts in the new year.

xoxo,

Kelly
